FURNITURE
For me, a design isn't really complete until it
is built. Making furniture is an opportunity to design at full
scale, working from a sketch and a pile of lumber to bring an
idea to life. Solving the problems that arise in the process-
of scale, proportion, function, detail and construction - teaches
lessons that translate directly to the more complicated process
of creating buildings.
My interest in design and architecture really began during my
years as a cabinet and furniture maker. I usually have at least
one piece under construction, sometimes for a client¹s project,
sometimes just for fun.
